This Christmas, the Year 6 children at Monk Fryston Primary School have put a special twist on their class advent calendar. The children wanted to show that Christmas is a time for giving. So, instead of receiving presents each day, they have taken it in turns to give gifts. Appreciating that it can be a difficult time of year for some families in the local community, they have brought in a wide range of food and toiletries to donate to the Trussell Trust Foodbank in Knottingley. Matthew Childs commented, ‘I am very proud of how much we have collected. It’s been a really fun and worthwhile thing to do.’ The staff are delighted with the way the children have taken to this project and are proud of their great achievement. The food was weighed in at the Foodbank at 76.6kg…..amazing!
