Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child.
We encourage interest in exploring and improving understanding of local and global communities, enabling children to contribute positively to life in modern Britain.
Next week’s school target is to make every day count!
The PTA would like to thank you for supporting their Christmas events. The Christmas Fayre raised £555 and the Winter Market £264. Added to the disco and Gingo, we have raised a wonderful amount of £1578 this half term. This will be put towards our project to create a bespoke wellbeing space.
We would like to apologise for the difficulties arising on the roads after the pantomime visit on Wednesday. This was due to circumstances beyond our control. Unfortunately, the performance over-ran and the coaches were then held up in traffic on both the A1 and A63. We appreciate that some families had other commitments and did all we could to communicate with you about the delays. It was extremely disappointing to see inconsiderate and unsafe parking around the school which exacerbated the traffic issues. It seems that a number of people ignored our requests for space to be left to allow the buses to drop off, and this created an unacceptable level of congestion on the roads. We do hope that in future we will be able to rely on more goodwill and common sense from parents and carers when collecting their children.
Thank you to all the children who took part in the choir performance at Selby Abbey last Friday, and for Mrs Taylor and Mrs Fawcett for accompanying them. Their singing was amazing (videos are on our Facebook page) and they helped to raise £949.67 for Christian Aid’s Christmas Appeal.
19th December is the Christmas dinner, children can come to school in a Christmas jumper if they wish along with the rest of their uniform.
20th December is Christmas parties!! Children can wear party clothes all day.
The Christmas post box is now in the school entrance, please remember to put the child’s full name and year group on the envelope so our year 6’s can deliver them to the right pupils.
We have a HUGE amount of un-named lost property, if any of it belongs to you please collect it, anything that is still there at the end of this term will be removed. Could you take time to check that your child’s name is in all their uniform, this way we can return things to their rightful owners.
