School target for w/c 18th April 2016; Remember to wipe your feet after playtime.
Governors would like to congratulate Mr Blackwood who has recently secured a promotion to the position of headteacher of Burton Salmon School, starting in September. This is a tremendous and exciting next step in his career, and we wish him every success in his new school. We have already started a recruitment process and hope to appoint a replacement assistant headteacher by half term.
Once again, we have encountered difficulties with parking around our school. Police would like us to remind all visitors that parking opposite a junction is illegal and they will take action against drivers. Several photographs of cars parking illegally have been forwarded to police, and if you spot an offence please contact the police directly on tel: 101
Please remember that test week for Key Stage 2 starts on Monday 9th May. It is really important that children in all classes are in school, on time every day that week as they will be taking tests and we want to maintain a quiet and calm environment throughout the school.
Don’t forget that we still need help with the Tour de Yorkshire event on Saturday 29th April. A list of roles has already been circulated, and if you are able to volunteer to help at any point in the day please let the office know.
The transition day this year has been planned for Wednesday 6th July. This is the day that children will spend with their new teacher in their next class.
PTA are having their next meeting on Tuesday at 7.30pm in school. New faces would be made very welcome! Please come along.
We still have a crate in the school entrance for anyone who would like to donate food for the food bank in Knottingley.
Our School Direct teacher training programme has now closed for next September and we are not recruiting and new trainees. Our school will host one trainee during next year. If you know someone who might be interested in training to teach with us in the future, applications for the following year will open in October – please do encourage them to talk to us about the process before then.
