School target for next week is; Remember to use kind words and actions.
Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child.
We promote Christian values whilst also developing understanding and appreciation of a range of cultures and faiths so that children show respect for the beliefs of others.
Our top attendees this week are Year 2 with 99.7% attendance. Well done!
We have had some safeguarding concerns raised about an app which children may be using outside school. Adult strangers have been using Live.ly and Musical.ly to chat to children inappropriately. We would urge you to ensure that your child does not have access to these apps on their personal devices.
Our children have done some wonderful learning activities this week. Do make sure that you are following us on Twitter or Facebook to see the latest posts and photos about things happening in school.
Our Learning Review day will be held on Wednesday 15th March. This is when parents and teachers (and pupils in KS2) look together at the progress being made, and identify the important next steps in learning to accelerate achievement. This is a really important process which has proved to be highly beneficial for our pupils. It is a day that school would normally be closed to pupils, but we believe it is an essential process in supporting learning.
It is really important that your child attends school every day. We know that there will be times when they are ill, and we do ask that they recover from illness before they return to school so that we can reduce infection. However, if your child’s attendance drops below 90% in a term we will write to you to indicate that we expect it to improve in the future. We have introduced a new weekly award this year to recognise the class with the highest attendance.
We are once again collecting the Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers, there is a box to drop them in in the school entrance on the little blue table. Thank you.
We now accept ComputerShare and Edenred Childcare vouchers for after school clubs. For more information please contact the office.
If children want to access MyMaths on a tablet, then they need to download ‘Puffin Academy’ app, which is free. MyMaths can then be accessed through that app on tablets.
William Lonsdale will be selling Lucky Cat magnets & badges that he has made. All proceeds will go the ‘Caring for Cats Rescue Centre’ He will have a stall on Friday 10th Feb at 3.30pm.
