Monday 22nd February is Thinking Day for the Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. We have agreed to allow children to come into school in their uniforms on that day. Thinking Day is an international celebration for Girlguiding when we think about Rainbows / Brownies / Guides around the world and how we are all part of one Guiding family. It is celebrated on 22nd Feb as this is the birthday of the founders – Lord and Lady Baden-Powell.
We are holding a special lunch for Mothers’ Day on Friday 4th March. Our cook, Mrs Butler, is cooking roast chicken and we would like to invite mothers to come and eat with their children on that day. The meal will cost £2.76 and it is important to request this in advance. It isn’t possible to arrange for children to move sittings and unfortunately families with children in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 will not be able to all sit together. However, we will tell you what time to arrive so that you sit with at least one of your children. If you would like to stay for lunch then please send £2.76 in a sealed envelope with your child(ren’s) name and year group(s) on the front and mark it ‘Mothers Day Lunch’. Please send orders in by Tuesday 23rd February.
Thank you to all the parents who came to the information evening about SPAG. We hope that you found it useful, and it has helped you to understand what constitutes SPAG and how we teach and test it in school. The presentation from the session is attached.
We were delighted to receive a very kind donation of £200 from Lions International this week. This was a quite unexpected, but pleasant surprise! We will use the money to purchase a new piece of computer equipment for our children to use. Elmet Lions are seeking new members and meet on the first Monday of every month. Please contact Ann Hudson on 07801827016 or email@example.com for further details.
