Colour Run

We had an amazing sponsored colour run to raise funds for our PTA. This was supported by our local Fire Service, who sent an engine to help cool us down. Everyone had an incredible time, inclusing the parents and friends who joined in. Thank you to everyone who supported the event.

Sponsor money is being collected and counted and we will release the total raised in due course.

MP Visit

We were delighted to welcome our local MP, Keir Mather, into school today. He met with some of our children to talk about the need for a safe crossing over the A63. Keir is very supportive of this initiative and has written ti North Yorkshire Highways to request that this is given serious consideration in the near future. Our children strongly supported this. Governor Award

Conbgratulations to the pupil who received the termly Governor Award, presented by Rev Roberts. The award is given by governors to pupils who consistently enact our vision and values, and this pupil has particularly excelled in endurance and community throughout the term. As a representative on the School Council they have helped to organise the talent show, and have supported the bid for funding which resulted in new cycle shelters being installed. They receive a £10 book token.

New Cycle Shelters

We are delighted that a grant from the Trans Pennine Route Upgrade community fund has enabled School Council and Eco Warriors to install new shelters over our bike racks. Children tell us that this will encourage them to cycle or scoot to school. We think that they look smart and will keep our scooters and cycles safe and dry. #TRUCommunityFund

Governor Award

Congratulations to the pupils in Year 6 who received the termly Governor Award. This recognises pupils who consistently enact our school vision and values throughout the term. They will receive a book voucher.

SIAMS Inspection

We are delighted that, following an inspection on 22nd October 2025, our SIAMS report has been published. It is wonderful to read that the inspector found that “pupils and adults … are valued and generously supported so that the school community flourishes”, and that “Lives have been inspired and transformed through opportunities provided by the school.”

We feel that the report is a very fair and accurate reflection of our school and are delighted to be able to share this.

Harvest Festival

We had a lovely Harvest Festival in church. Children brought lots of generous donations of food, which will be distributed to local food banks. We gave thanks to God for creation and all he does for us.

Thank you to all the parents and friends who attended.

Green Flag

We are delighted that the Eco Warriors achieved the Green Flag with Distinction again this year. This is a fantastic achievement and recognises all the hard work that they put into environmental education.

Having evaluated their application, the assessors wrote:

“We appreciated that you created a Climate Action Plan and that the climate conference you attended inspired many of the initiatives. Raising awareness motivates people to act and gain understanding, and so has a direct link to change. Reusable plastic containers score significantly lower on greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water use than single use plastic cartons so we applaud your initiative to persuade your school community to swap over.”

We are really proud of the work our pupils continue to do in this field.
