Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child.
We are central and valued within the community and the community is an extension of life in school.
Next week’s school target is to behave sensibly in the toilets and cloakrooms.
Year 4 are our top attendees this week with 99.2%. Fantastic!
Are you a member at the Co-op? If so, you can nominate Monk Fryston School PTA to receive 1% of what you spend on selected own-brand products & services. If you aren’t a member then now may be a good time to join! Please tell friends and family as they can nominate us too!
We are delighted that our kitchen has been awarded the Silver Award as part of the ‘Food for Life Served Here’ scheme. This is an accreditation made by the Soil Association in recognition for a commitment to serving fresh, honest food. As well as free-range eggs, a minimum of 5% organic produce is used in the dishes we prepare. All fruit and vegetables are fresh and peeled on site, ensuring that our menus remain of a high quality.
Please remember to park legally and safely when visiting our school. Police and parking enforcement officers will be in the area in the next few weeks to ensure that this is happening. It is important to remember not to park within 10m of a junction (or opposite) which is outlined in the Highway Code. We understand that the roads get busy, particularly at the end of the day and during school productions, but would be grateful if visitors were considerate towards local residents and other road users when parking their vehicles.
Cook will provide a cold lunch for years 1 to 6 on Wednesday 13th December for children having school dinners as they need to leave early for the pantomime trip. Reception class will still get a hot meal as normal.
Weds 20th December is Christmas Dinner day, children can wear their Christmas jumper/top if they wish.
Thurs 21st December is class parties, children can come to school in party clothes (non uniform).
We have accumulated quite a lot of lost property this term. This is kept in the entrance so that children and parents have access to it. It is sorted out each week and any named items returned, but unfortunately we still have a lot that isn’t named. Any lost property that is unclaimed by Christmas will be donated to our uniform sale, where it will be cleaned and sold on during next term. If you child has lost an item of clothing please ensure that you reclaim it over the next two weeks.
Sadly, Mrs Kelly will be leaving our school at the end of term as she has been appointed to a new position working in York. We would like to offer our congratulations and give our best wishes for this exciting new venture. We are really grateful for all she has done for our school over the last 11 years, and we know that she will be missed by staff, pupils and parents.
