Next week’s school target is remember to always reduce, reuse, or recycle.
Please take time to talk about our school values with your child – we promote Christian values whilst also developing understanding and appreciation of a range of cultures and faiths so that children show respect for the beliefs of others.
You may have noticed that the high level fencing has been extended around the car park in order to improve safeguarding on our site. This was made possible by the use of the Chancellor’s ‘little extras’ funding announced in the budget, which could only be spent on school premises.
Sadly, Mrs Alderson has resigned as a teacher at our school with effect from the end of the school year. This is due to relocation, and we would like to wish her and her family every happiness in their new home. We have advertised for one full-time teacher to replace both Mrs Alderson and Mrs Lofthouse.
We are now collecting in all library books, if you have one at home please return it by the 18th June at the very latest.
Thank you to everyone who attended sports day. We had a brilliant day and managed to avoid the worst of the weather. A big thank you goes to the Year 6 pupils who organised the morning, parents who helped in the afternoon, and to Mrs Tate who organised the day. Well done to Green team for winning. A gallery of pictures has been posted on our website.
Sadly, after 17 years working as MSA at our school, Mrs Jackson will be retiring at the end of the term. We would like to wish her every happiness in the future.
This week we have welcomed Miss Spani to our school. She is a trainee teacher from Switzerland who will be working in our Year 6 class for the next 3 weeks.
Friday 14th June cook is making fish, chips & mushy peas with bread and butter served in a takeaway tray for anyone having school lunches next week. If the weather is nice we are going to eat outside. What a treat!
Friday 28th June Year 6 will be having their ‘leavers lunch’ which they chose by a class vote – they are having pizza and arctic roll, so anyone having school dinners week commencing 24th can enjoy it with them!
Friday 5th July, PTA have organised a Summer BBQ 6-8pm, there will be a disco, bar, BBQ, cakes, face painting and a lot of fun! Minster FM will be joining us too. Please bring a chair with you. If you can join us could you please complete the form via this link or the link on our Facebook page so we can gauge numbers to order food and drink. We also really need people to help set up/clear away and help with the BBQ, please indicate on the form via the link if you can do any of these. Thank you. https://forms.gle/KJqSXAofMoLFDeHo6
