Next week’s school target is; Remember to keep the cloakrooms tidy at all times.
Please do spare a few moments to complete our online Parent survey as this closes on Sunday. We have attached a copy of the original letter with login details.
Please be aware that we are expecting disruption to teaching on Tuesday 5th July as a result of strike action by the NUT. Year 1 and Year 2 will be CLOSED on that day, but currently we expect all other years to be open to pupils.
Open Classrooms Tuesday 5th July, 3.30pm to 5pm – all classrooms will be open for you to come and have a look at your child’s work but please be aware that any teacher involved in the strike action will not be present.
We will report your child’s achievement on the end of year report using the ‘Sheffield STAT’ scale that we have publicised to you throughout the year. This will help you to judge the amount of progress your child has made throughout the year. Pupils in Year 2 and Year 6 will have an additional report indicating whether they have ‘met the acceptable standard for their age’. This is based upon the outcomes of the tests that they took. We do expect that a large number of children will meet the standard, but please be aware that the expectations of the new curriculum are significantly higher and the standard is now much more difficult to attain.
Thank you for helping us to maintain high levels of attendance by ensuring that your child is in school all the time. We remain unable to authorise absence other than in exceptional circumstances, so please continue to support us by making sure that they attend right up to the end of term.
Might your firm be willing to sponsor the South Milford Bonfire? We have very affordable packages available. In return you receive a published advert that is circulated to 5,000 people and free tickets to the event. Please support our school by taking advantage of this offer – contact the office for details.
We would like to say a Big Thank You to the Monk Fryston Educational Foundation for their kind donation of £735!
This donation has helped fund the children’s visit to the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield last month and also paid for part of next year’s Year 6 Robinwood residential trip in September.
Elle-Rose would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who bought a bun and donated to Great Ormand Street Hospital last Friday. She raised £50 from the bun sale but her total to date is £344 and still fundraising, she is hoping to do the big bike ride over the next week or two!
Please see attached flyer regarding a basic first aid course for parents.
