Friday News 10.05.19
Dear Parents/Carers,
Next week’s school target is to move quietly and with consideration around the school please.
Please take time to talk about our school values with your child – we provide a secure, caring and supportive environment in which pupils understand the difference between right and wrong, and high standards of behaviour are expected.
Next week is SATs week for our Year 6 children, and some other classes will also be doing tests. It is important that children attend every day and are punctual. We will be trying really hard to maintain a calm and quiet environment throughout the week in order to give our pupils the very best chance to succeed.
Sports Day will take place on Tuesday 4th June. This year, our older children will run the morning activities therefore, we are not asking for parental help. Parents are invited to join us for the races in the afternoon, the gates will open at 1.20pm so please do not arrive before then, races start at 1.30pm.
Sadly, after five years at our school Mrs Lofthouse will be leaving us at the end of term. She has been an integral part of our successful team, and we know that she will be missed by staff, children and parents. We would like to wish her well in her new position.
Year 4 are currently working towards the Arch Bishop Youth Trust Young Leaders Award and the theme is ‘to be the change you want to see’. They have been busy completing a wide range of tasks and challenges to show how small actions can make a big difference. After carefully researching a range of different charitable causes, they have chosen to support ‘Knottingley Food Bank’ for their penultimate class challenge.
