Dear Parents/Carers,
Next week’s school target is – Remember to show respect to all adults.
Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child.
Governors are supportive, involved and well informed. They are key members of the team.
Our top attendees this week are FOUR classes – Reception, Year 2, Year 3 & Year 6 all with 100% attendance. Well done!
Well done to our Year 1 pupils who participated in the Cross Country event at South Milford School yesterday. It was a lovely afternoon, and they were all amazing in the way that they participated in the races. We were delighted that in the girls race we got first and second place, and in the boys race we got a third place. Well done to everyone!
Learning review meetings will take place next Wednesday, 15th March. This is a day that the school would normally be closed to pupils anyway. We appreciate that this can cause working families difficulties, but hope that all parties find the reviews positive and productive. In EYFS and Key Stage 1, the reviews take place between the parents and the teacher. In Key Stage 2, we ask the pupils to join the meeting. They have had the opportunity to review their own learning and targets, and should bring their prepared script to the meeting. If parents or teachers want to have a confidential discussion without the child present, the child will be asked to wait outside the room at the end of the meeting.
Don’t forget that the PTA quiz takes place on 24th March. This is always a highly entertaining event! Please purchase tickets quickly as numbers are limited and may run out. Entry can be as a table team, or teams can be found on the night for individuals who aren’t already part of a team.
We are holding a maths information evening for parents on Thursday 30th March. We will explore some of the ways we teach different maths concept, including the use of ‘bar modelling’. Please come along and find out what we do.
Whilst we always try to do our best in everything, we understand that sometimes we don’t get things right. If you have a concern about something that happens at school, please raise this with your child’s teacher in the first instance. If they are unable to resolve your concerns we do have a complaints policy that can be found on the website, which indicates the steps you are able to take to progress your concerns.
PTA have teamed up with St Wilfrid’s Church to arrange a Table Top Sale and Craft Fair on Saturday 6th May, we have attached their flyer with more details.
We sent out information last week about Radical Run, if this is something you would like to take part in they have very kindly given parents a discount, use the discount code school10. Children will also have brought home a flyer about it this week.
