Friday News 10.6.16

Dear Parents/Carers,

Next week’s school target is; Remember to be polite and use good manners.

We know that parents sometimes like their children to bring sweets to share with the class for special occasions such as their birthday. We remain happy to give these out at the end of the day, but following a choking incident this week we would like to request that parents do not send any hard or boiled sweets.
We can now confirm our teaching arrangements for next academic year. In September, our classes will be:

Reception Miss Fenton
Year 1 Mrs Walsh
Year 2 Mrs Starr
Year 3 Mrs Strathearn & Mrs Alderson
Year 4 Mrs Greenwood & Mrs Lofthouse (Miss Sutcliffe)
Year 5 Miss Dales
Year 6 Mrs Law

As part to their Young Leaders Award programme, our Year 4 pupils are raising money for charity. They have chosen to organise den building days for children in each class in aid of Save the Children. In return for a donation of £2 children will spend a session out of class in the school grounds building a den. Teachers will communicate the day that they have chosen to do this in their weekly email. If you have any resources you could donate to help build dens (lengths of timber, fabric, ground sheets etc) please contact the office

Every year our school PTA benefits from funding from the South Milford Bonfire. The amount we receive is directly linked to the amount of sponsorship we are able to raise – the more we generate, the more our children get back. Different levels are available (please see attached letter for details) and all come with complementary tickets to the event, making it an attractive and cost-effective offer. Please do consider supporting us!

Don’t forget to sign up for the Monk Fryston Big Dig that is happening during the weekend of 2nd & 3rd July. The village is rich in history, and you may unearth something truly fascinating from your own back garden. Professional advice and support will be provided during the weekend, including guidance on repairing the test pit at the end. It is important that you register your interest beforehand – please visit www.findingfryston.co.uk

We have received a very kind donation of £140.70 from funds that were raised from a 80’s night which was held recently. Thank you!

Please remember to check the calendar on the website regularly for details of any upcoming events.
