Friday News 11.01.19
Dear Parents/Carers,
Next week’s school target is to keep up the fantastic start to the year.
Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child – We are committed to partnership working and sector-led school improvement in line with our responsibilities as a National Teaching School.
Welcome back! We hope that everyone enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing Christmas and New Year. The children have certainly started back very well and we have enjoyed seeing their energy, enthusiasm for learning and good behaviour this week.
Thank you for helping to keep our school safe by parking considerately when dropping off and collecting children from school. It really does make a difference.
Thank you for supporting all the PTA events that happened last term, and particularly before Christmas. We felt that they provided a number of opportunities to bring people in the community together whilst also raising over £1500 towards our new wellbeing room.
You will know that we always take safeguarding very seriously in school and want to keep your children safe at all times. Locking the pedestrian gates during the school day has worked successfully and we will continue to do this. If you have safeguarding concerns about any child please do talk to someone about them. The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mr Weights and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Law.
Message from County Music Service, Mr Senogles our piano/keyboard teacher has a space for one more child, if you are interested please contact them on 01609 532783.
Change of menu for Wednesday 16th January – it will now be chicken korma.
We have a great menu this term, if your child is currently having packed lunches and would like to try the hot school meals as the weather is now getting colder, why not give it a go next week. If you have any questions please contact the office. We have attached a copy of the menu for you to discuss with your child.
There is a pantomime at Brotherton & Byram Parrish Hall, please see poster below for more details.
