Friday News 11.12.15
Dear Parents/Carers,
Next week’s school target; Be nice to everybody in school in this last week before Christmas.
We would like to inform parents and friends that Mrs Edwards has indicated to governors that she intends to retire at the end of this academic year. She has given over 20 years of fantastic service to our school, and has made a difference to the lives of many children. We will celebrate her career fully during the summer term. Governors will commence the process to recruit a new Assistant Headteacher in the New Year.
Thank you to everyone who helped to organise the Christmas Fayre, or attended the event. This was brilliant and raised £1,528.85 for our school, which the PTA will use to fund new classroom projection facilities. Thank you for your generosity.
Sadly, Mrs Dixon will be leaving our school on Wednesday. We will miss her expertise and experience in supporting the progress of our children. She is pursuing a new business venture with her husband, and we wish her well.
Mrs Eyre is also leaving us next week. She has secured a substantive appointment at another school. Governors are recruiting a temporary replacement until Mrs Strathearn returns at the end of the Spring term.
Thank you to everyone who made donations on Christmas Jumper day, we raised £205.19 which will be donated to ‘Text Santa’. Thank you as always for your support!
If you still have a Christingle Collection Candle at home could you please bring them to school on Monday.
If you post Christmas cards in our post box in the school entrance could you please remember to put the child’s full name and year group so we can ensure they are delivered to the right person. Thank you.
Following the success of last year’s Charity Ball where almost £7,000 was raised for Candelighters, some of our parents are holding another Ball in February 2016. This year they would like to raise money for a local cause if possible, with a target amount of between £2,000 & £2,500.
They would love to hear from anybody who knows of someone local who has a child that needs a special piece of equipment to deal with an illness or disability or needs specialist treatment that they need to raise funds for. Alternatively, any local charitable cause where this amount of funds could make a real difference would be considered. For further details or to recommend a worthy cause, please contact Kirsten Hunter at hunter_kirsten@yahoo.co.uk or Lee Hayes atlee.hayes@closebrothers.com
