The target for our first week back is remember to “choose your attitude”.
We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who is supporting the PTA’s fundraising for a wellbeing room. The recent cinema evening, cake sales, and donations are really helping us to achieve our target. We hope that we can build the wellbeing room by Christmas, and that this resource will benefit all our children from the start of 2020. Our design has been created to take large groups, and we aim to use it for all the children in school to do mindfulness and wellbeing activities.
Does your business offer a financial support scheme for charities? If so, would you consider signing up our PTA for the scheme? We have benefited from these schemes in the past, and as a registered charity we are able to receive much-needed financial assistance that can be used to purchase resources for our children, including classroom resources or our larger projects such as the wellbeing room. Please speak to Mr Weights if you would like help with applying to a scheme.
County Caterers came into school last week to talk to years 4 & 5 about our school meals, they worked out how many miles our food travels before it ends up in the school kitchen. They had a competition where they were asked to design a meal for our menu. The winner was Lawrence in Year 5, his design was a rainbow wrap with chicken, ham, red onion, cucumber & lettuce served with potato salad and dips. For dessert, he chose raspberries, strawberries and yoghurt. His meal will appear Tuesdays/week 3 on the menu next term so why not give it a try!
We have attached a copy of next term’s menu for you to discuss with your child. Each day there is a choice of the main meal, a sandwich or a jacket potato with a choice of fillings. Please be aware there is a change to the menu of the first day back (29th April) cook will be making Margherita pizza.
If your child would enjoy a glass of fresh cold milk each morning then you can sign up at coolmilk.com, it works out at around £15 per term.
Thank you for all your lovely comments about the Easter Lunch, we were glad so many of you could join us. The kitchen staff and midday supervisors did a great job. The children enjoyed playing tig and hopscotch with the adults.
We have a History Club running in the Easter Holiday’s please see the attached flyer for full details.
One of our pupils is trying to establish a fun filled unisex football club called ‘Monk Fryston Jets’, he has designed a poster with full details which we have attached for you. Children from the age of 7 can attend.
