Dear Parents/Carers,
School target for next week is; Remember to come into the lunch hall quietly.
Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child.
We provide a secure, caring and supportive environment in which pupils understand the difference between right and wrong, and high standards of behaviour are expected.
Our top attendees this week are Reception with 99.7% attendance. Well done!
Please remember that it is against the law to park within 10m of a junction. We have noted that parents are parking opposite the junction with Chestnut Green, and this causes problems with traffic and especially coaches transporting our children. The police will take action if they note any offenses during one of their regular visits.
You may have noticed that our school now has a Facebook page. Please do have a look – we have started to post things that have been going on in school, and mirror some of our tweets. Don’t forget to ‘like’ us!
Well done to all the Year 5 children for a fabulous performance at Young Voices yesterday. They really represented our school brilliantly and we are very proud of them.
Have you seen our school meals menu this term? There are new recipes for meals that are all cooked using local ingredients to very strict healthy criteria, and are very popular with our children. If your child hasn’t tried a school meal for a while, why not book them in for a week to see what they think of the new dishes? The menu is on our website.
Don’t forget that there is a PTA meeting next Wednesday, at 7.30pm. An agenda will be sent out soon – everybody is welcome.
Save the date! The famous PTA quiz will take place on Friday 24th March. This is always popular, so do try to find a team to get involved with soon – tickets will be on sale around half term.
We are planning to hold a maths information evening for parents on Thursday 30th March. This will build upon the meeting we previously held on calculations, and will introduce ‘bar modelling’ and explore My Maths. It is free to attend and everyone is welcome.
Thank you to everyone who donates food to Knottingley Food Bank and to the Year 6’s for doing the Food Advent. We have donated 251.9 kg of food between Oct-Dec 2016!! There is a tray in the school entrance for anyone to put food in to help support this cause throughout the year.
