Friday News 15.11.19

Dear Parents/Carers,

Next week’s school target is remember to believe in yourself.

Our annual PTA Christmas Fayre will be held on 7th December 12pm to 2pm.  If you have anything you could donate as prizes for the tombola or raffle or bottles of wine for the bottle game please drop them in at the office.  This year we are also collecting Christmas jumpers/t-shirts or Christmassy outfits (children’s or adult’s) that you no longer wear or have grown out of as we are going to have a pre-loved Christmas jumper stall.

Do you have any nativity costumes that you no longer need or want?  If so, would you mind donating them to school.  We are hoping to get a bank of costumes that we can hire out for a small fee each year. Please drop them off at the office.

You can give any member of staff a shout out at any time by clicking this link  this is always available on our website, hover over the ‘Our School’ tab and then click ‘Staff List’  the link is at the top of the page.

You may have noticed that there are a number of illnesses going around school at the moment. If your child is ill, we do insist that they do not return to school for at least 48 hours in order to reduce the risk of infection. This is in line with the Public Health Agency guidelines, which can be found at:  Thank you for your support.

We are delighted with our pupil outcomes for last year. These have now been released by DFE and are on our website. As you will see, our school continues to perform highly in all subjects and phases, and the progress that children make by the end of Year 6 is well above other schools nationally.

You will see in our behaviour policy that our school rules have changed. We still believe that the old rules are important, but hope that the new ones are easy for children to remember and help to make sure that they continue to behave well. Our new rules are that we expect children to be: kind, fair, and safe. Please help us by reinforcing these at home.  A copy of the behaviour policy is available on our website.  Thank you

You may have seen that this week has been anti-bullying week. We have chosen to promote this to children next week so that we could accommodate Remembrance and Children in Need this week.

We promised to send you information about how well your child is doing in their learning. These letters should come home by next Friday.

We have attached a guide to assessments for parents for your information.

Quick reminder that all children should have both indoor & outdoor PE kits in school Monday to Friday each week. It is getting cold and we still do outdoor PE so PLEASE remember to send some warm outdoor PE clothing.

The information below is from one of our parents:

I’m having a cake and coffee morning to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association as I am running the London Marathon 26th April 2020.
