Dear Parents/Carers,

Our top attendees this week are Year 6 with 100.0% attendance. Well done!

If your children are bored or fed up this holiday, try encouraging them to practise their English and maths learning. This doesn’t need to be a chore – it should be fun! They could do some reading, help follow a recipe in the kitchen, do some activities on My Maths, or sing a song about times tables. Every little will help and this is a great time of year to encourage them.

Thank you to everyone who gave time to organise or support the Christmas Fayre last week. It was another wonderful occasion, and we all had great fun playing games, trying to win prizes and having festive photos taken. We would really like to thank Year 6 pupils for organising games and competitions – they certainly showed a great deal of creativity! PTA are very grateful for all contributions; the total raised has not been finalised yet, but it looks to be another good sum. Thank you!

All staff and helpers would like to thank families for their cards, presents and good wishes – we are so lucky to have such a wonderful community around us and are all really grateful.

Children enjoyed a free mince pie yesterday that had been kindly donated by a local supporter of our school. This was a very kind and generous gesture – thank you!

Message from St Wilfrid’s Church
St Wilfrid’s Christingle Service – This Sunday (18th Dec) at 3pm

Do join us for our annual Christingle Service this coming Sunday where our
children can hear the Christmas story again, make Christingles, and at the same
time help and support other children less fortunate through the work of the
Children’s Society. It is a lovely candlelit service which this year seems to have
a lot of chocolate in it for some reason – come along and find out why.
A service for all the family and a great way to start the week’s build to
Christmas Day.
Look forward to seeing you if you can be with us.
Blessings as always
Padre John

And finally … we would like to wish all our families a very Merry Christmas, and a prosperous and healthy New Year. See you in 2017!
