Dear Parents/Carers,
Next week’s school target is; Remember to walk into school after playtimes.
Please remember to check the calendar on the website regularly for details of any upcoming events. Also be aware there is not a football or multi skills club next week. We did send a text out last week. Thank you.
The Sumdog North Yorkshire contest starts today! This enables our children to compete against pupils and classes from other schools across the county. Please encourage your child to take part by playing the games at home. For classes to qualify they need at least 10 children taking part, so please get friends together and have a go – the more right answers we can get, the more chance of winning!
We often talk about the benefits of reading with children at home. We know that lots of families are great at this, and children who read regularly are entered in our weekly reading raffle. Please do encourage your child to read to you or with you as much as they can, because this has a huge impact upon their learning in general. Please also consider the reading they will do during the summer holidays. The Library Service are once again doing a reading challenge and it would be wonderful if all our children took part
Please do spare a few moments to complete our online Parent survey. Details of this have been sent in a letter, but if you would like help logging in or accessing the survey please contact the office.
Don’t forget that it is Sports Day on Tuesday. Children should have the right coloured kit with them for the entire day. We still need some additional parent volunteers to run activities in the morning. All parents are invited to attend the races in the afternoon. Children having school dinners next week will have a picnic lunch on Tuesday.
PTA Raffle – As the village isn’t holding a summer fayre this year you’ll notice no book of raffle tickets in the school bag. To help plug the gap in the PTA funds we are holding a raffle of summer treats on sports day. We have put together amazing prizes to give your family some summer outing, with everything from the cinema tickets to your meal taken care off. Please help support your school by buying tickets on Sports Day or from the office.
Elle Rose Waters in Year 6 has arranged a bun sale after school on Friday 24th June. All proceeds will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. Elle-Rose is also doing lots of other activities to raise money, we have attached the poster that Elle-Rose has made.
