Next week’s school target is to dress appropriately for the cold weather.
Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child – we provide a secure, caring and supportive environment in which pupils understand the difference between right and wrong, and high standards of behaviour are expected.
We have been delighted with the way children have returned to school this term. They have shown great positivity and enthusiasm for learning, which is fantastic.
We had a record number of entries in the Reading Raffle last week. This is for children who read at home every night and have their planner signed by parents. As you will know, regular reading is extremely important in helping children develop fluency and speed, as well as enhancing their vocabulary.
Don’t forget that Mrs Law is now the Deputy Headteacher in school, and she is able to help with queries if Mr Weights is unavailable.
Well done to our Year 5 pupils for representing our school so well at the Young Voices event in Sheffield. This was an opportunity to sing alongside 5,000 other children in a mass choir and was an incredible experience.
Message from County Music Service, Mr Senogles our piano/keyboard teacher has a space for one more child, if you are interested please contact them on 01609 532783.
Monk Fryston Junior Football Club is delighted to be hosting its first ever Football Camp on 1st March (that’s the Friday in half term). The exciting initiative is being run in conjunction with Leeds United FC Foundation. The club would love as many children as possible from the villages to take part in what promises to be a fun-filled day. Any school child aged up to 12 can attend, whether they are part of Monk Fryston JFC or not.
“Marching on with our Community” is a one day Skills Holiday Course run by qualified and vetted coaches. The fun day will take place at Monk Fryston’ s very own Stocking Lane ground. The day will include loads of exciting games, competitions and tuition.
You can book your place by completing the registration form and photo consent form attached. These should be returned to Martin Crick (Annie and Ava’s Dad) at 6 The Meadows, Monk Fryston, along with payment. Cost is just £20 for the day. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment! Any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
