Friday News 19.7.19

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are incredibly proud of all that our children have achieved this year. They have worked very hard, and shown a lot of commitment to our school. We would like to thank all parents and families for their support this year – it is wonderful to work in such supportive partnerships.

Staff would like to thank all parents for their kind ‘thank you’ gifts. These are really thoughtful and generous, and are really appreciated. We are grateful for the donations for our wellbeing room, and hope to have some exciting news about this in the new academic year.

Although the holidays are for rest and relaxation, and to ensure that children are refreshed in body and mind, please do encourage them to keep up with their learning. Maintaining regular short sessions of times tables rehearsal, spellings and most particularly reading, really gives them a head start in September.

We know that all parents keep their children safe over the holidays, but don’t forget to remind them about the importance of sun cream, keeping hydrated, and being safe around water. There is a great deal of information online to help with this.

We have encouraged all children to take part in the Library Service reading challenge this year. Joining the library is free, and there is no cost for the challenge. Children can get rewards for their reading – it is great fun and helps their achievement.

Please remember to encourage your child to read and practise their mental maths during the holidays. This will help them to continue their learning well in September.

Sadly, Mrs Alderson, Mrs Lofthouse, Mrs Reid and Mrs Jackson leave our school today. We would like to wish them all well in their next adventure.

We are holding a clothing collection on behalf of the Salvation Army, they will collect any bags from school on 18th September, their collection bags will come home first week in September.  So….if you are having a clear out in the summer please save any unwanted clothing to donate in September.  Thank you.
