Have you ever considered training to be a teacher? From September 2016 our school is starting to offer training placements on the ‘School Direct’ programme. This is an exciting opportunity to learn to teach through being in the classroom. Run in partnership with the University of Hull, trainees will be awarded PGCE with QTS at the end of the one-year programme. Applications will open in October. Further details can be found in the Training section of our website.

Reception class are in need of toy cars in good condition.  If anyone is having a clear out and would like to donate any cars to school we would be happy to give them a new home!

On Monday Mrs Williams the headteacher from Sherburn High School will be in school to answer any questions or just to have a chat with any parents from Years 3 to 6.  She will be in the hall from 3.30pm for approx 30 minutes if you would like to pop in.

We would like to confirm that the date of the school disco is 21st October 2015 not 19th October.

We are very pleased to have received the Sainsburys School Games ‘Silver’ Mark. This illustrates the commitment we have to afterschool and competitive sporting activities.

It’s our Harvest Festival on Friday 9th October in church at 9.30am.  Children can bring along fruit and vegetables but please remember the children have to carry these down to church themselves.  If you would like to send a larger donation then please just drop it in at the church that morning. The harvest produce will again be going to the Salvation Army in York for their work with the homeless and their food bank for struggling families.

We are delighted to announce that our school has successfully been accredited as a provider for the ‘School Direct’ teacher training programme. In partnership with the Department for Education, Hull University and other schools in the STAR Alliance we will be offering training placements from September 2016. Successful trainees will be awarded a PGCE. Applications open this month and further details can be found under the ‘training’ tab of our website.
