Friday News 20.10.17

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please take time to talk about our school values for w/c 30.10.17 with your child.
We promote mutual respect and tolerance so that adults and children have a good working relationship and engage with British values.

Our school target for w/c 30.10.17 is to treat everyone with respect.

Year 3 are our top attendees this week with 99.3%. Fantastic!

Thank you for supporting our trial of serving a jacket potato option at lunchtime. We have had a great deal of positive feedback, and in response to suggestions we will improve our offer after half term. From Monday 30th October, we will increase the portion size for jacket potatoes, and will offer children an option of two toppings (e.g. ½ beans and ½ cheese) rather than just one. We will only issue bands to children who have jacket potato (colours of bands may vary) and will ask them to keep these on until they get home so that you are aware of their menu choice each day.

Thank you to the children who entered the South Milford Bonfire art competition. All the entries are on the bonfire Facebook page, and you can vote for your favourite by ‘liking’ it. The winners will receive free tickets, so do please get voting.

The South Milford Bonfire is a ticket-only event again this year. School has a very small number of tickets available for sale, but they are also available from local shops and online – please see their website or Facebook page for details.

There is still time to offer to help at the South Milford Bonfire. Please let the office know if you are able to give any time during the weekend. It promises to be a spectacular event this year!

Glow in the dark disco with UV face paints, Weds 1st November. £2 on the door. Reception to Year 2, 5-6pm, Year 3 to 6, 6-7pm. Please let the office know asap if you do not want your child to use the UV face paints. Thank you.

Poppies will be on sale from 30th October 2017, Year 6 will bring them to the classes every day.

Friday 17th November – Children in Need. – Please see the attached letter from Mr Weights with details of the day.

We are very excited that the author Andy Seed will be in school on Tues 31st October. You can order one of his books which he will sign. We are sending home the list of books with children today. If you would like to order one then please send the correct money in an envelope clearly labelled with the title of the book you require along with your child’s name & year grp.
