Friday News 21.06.19

Dear Parents/Carers,

Next week’s school target is remember to always use kind words.

Please take time to talk about our school values with your child – we promote mutual respect and tolerance so that adults and children have a good working relationship and engage with British values.

The PTA will be holding a family bbq on 5th July, from 6pm-8pm. It will be a lot of fun – please come and support us.

Well done to our Year 6 Sports Leaders who continue to organise playtime games to keep our children active at playtimes. This is an important aspect of our School Games Mark accreditation.

As you know, data security if very important to us. Our policies on data security can all be found under the ‘policies’ section of the website.

Some of our Year 6 pupils will leave us to transition to secondary school next week. The Leavers’ Service will be held in church at 9.30am on Thursday 27th June. Parents and friends are welcome to attend, but please only use the rear side aisles or stand at the back of church, as the other seating will be reserved for the children.

The Brownies are running a cake/bun stall at the Summer BBQ on 5th July, we would appreciate donation of buns or cakes for the stall please.  These can be brought into school on Fri 5th or taken to the BBQ evening.  Thank you!

This year’s beer festival is fast approaching and we can’t do it without our army of volunteers. Please message via the Facebook group or Becki Skipp on Facebook messenger or let the office know if you’re able to help us out at all this year. We need help setting up Thursday night and Friday day time as well as volunteers throughout the event on the bar/food/front desk. And of course help on the Sunday to tidy it all away… lunch and refreshments provided on the Sunday.

Please see the attached flyer for details of the following;

Held between 27 – 30 August, the Opera North Orchestra Camp is an action-packed holiday programme of fun, high quality musical experiences alongside the Orchestra of Opera North.Participants are appropriately challenged to develop within their technical and musical ability in an inspirational and supportive environment.

Over the course of the week, our young people will:

  • Take part in instrumental, singing and creative composition sessions
  • Explore exciting new music alongside musicians from the Orchestra of Opera North
  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Perform side-by-side with the Orchestra of Opera North

We welcome enthusiastic young musicians aged 10–18 of all abilities; participants will take part in either a junior or senior ensemble. This is a fantastic way to end the holidays and begin the new academic year. It would be great to have a broad representation of schools in the Leeds area within the Orchestra camp, and to see lots of young musicians take up the opportunity to play alongside our professional orchestra.
