Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child.
We are committed to partnership working and sector-led school improvement in line with our responsibilities as a National Teaching School.
Next week’s school target is ‘be present’. This is embracing our new ‘Fish Philosophy’ which is encouraging good listening & focussing skills to ensure children get the best out of their learning.
Governors were very pleased with the outcomes of the parents survey – thank you for your valuable feedback. Results have improved in almost every area since 2016. We are delighted that 97% parents are satisfied with our school. We are looking at the suggestions provided, and have already identified two emerging themes that we will investigate further: PE/ Sports and the reporting of pupil progress. We will let you know how we will address these during the year.
We are beginning to receive information about our pupil outcomes last year. We did incredibly well! Results have been posted on our website. We have indications that our attainment in Year 6 last year put us in the top 1% schools nationally, which is amazing! Well done everybody!
It is great to see children enjoying the bounties of autumn, particularly the conkers that have fallen from our trees. We have reminded them to play with these sensibly and to not throw things into the trees to knock conkers down as this can be dangerous (and embarrassing when their shoe gets stuck in the tree!!) Please help us by reinforcing these messages before and after school, thank you.
MacMillan Coffee Afternoon – Friday 28th Sept 2.30pm, we would be VERY grateful for donations of raffle prizes, please hand these to the office. Also, donations of buns on the day to sell in the afternoon. Thank you in advance for your support of such a worthy cause.
Thank you to everyone who organised or attended the Beer Festival last weekend. It was a wonderful community event and we are sure it will have raised a large amount of money for our school and the Community Association.
