Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child.
We encourage excellence in both teaching and learning.
Next week’s school target is to remember to dress appropriately for the cold weather.
Our Learning Review day takes place on Wednesday 7th March. This is a day on which the school would be closed to children as we use one of our allocated training days for this purpose. We do hope that all parents are able to attend, as this is an important opportunity to discuss your child’s learning and progress. Children in Years 3 – 6 are expected to be included in appointments, and should lead the conversation about their learning. Should you wish to speak to the teacher confidentially without your child present, there will be an opportunity at the end of the meeting.
The famous PTA quiz will take place on 2nd March in the school hall. This is a brilliant and extremely popular event. Tickets are £6 and can be purchased on ParentPay. The price includes admittance and a pie & pea supper. The quiz takes place in a team format, but individuals are welcome to come along and join in teams – a great way to meet new people. Unfortunately if not enough tickets are sold we may have to cancel the event which would be a great shame. We will review after this weekend.
Some of our Year 6 pupils are organising a talent show for children on the last afternoon of the term (Thursday 29th March). Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate parents in the audience due to space restrictions in the hall. Pupils are invited to show their talents individually or in groups; initially this will be to their own class, and then each class will put forward two or three acts to the school show. There are no prizes – it is just for fun and an opportunity to perform to an audience.
Thursday 1st March children to dress up as their favourite character from a book of their choice.
Hi I’m Ella from Yr 4. My Archie B project is helping out a charity and I have chosen to collect bedding for the animals rescued and looked after by the RSPCA. I have asked my class and now would like to ask the rest of the school if they have any old towels, sheets, blankets, or hollowfibre (not feather/down) quilts/pillows that they would like to donate to my collection. I can also take old newspapers or shredded paper. If you would like to help I have labelled a blue trolley inside the school entrance into which you can put your donation. Can you please bag your items just in case it’s raining when I take the trolley home. The trolley will be in reception from Monday to Friday next week.
One of our parents is trying to set up a school football team but requires a couple of parents to help, preferably from year 5 or year 6. This would be for around an hour a week after school on a regular basis, day to be confirmed but if you think you may be able to offer your time please let the office know. Many thanks.
