Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child.
We recognise, respect and encourage the use of imagination and creativity in learning, so that we nurture the individuality of every child and support the development of their unique identity and positive self-image.
Thank you to everyone who bought uniform from the stall last Friday, they raised £55.50 for school. A big thank you to the parents who organised, ran the stall and washed/ironed all the uniform.
Have you considered being part of our PTA? This is a great group of parents, teachers and friends that come together to organise fundraising and social events for our school. They are a vital part of what we do, and the money that they raise is essential for our development. Next year, the majority of the committee will step down and we will be looking for new people (individually or collectively) to take the reins. The changeover will happen in September, so there is a little time to consider if you could help. If you would like more information please speak to Mr Weights or one of the PTA parents.
You will be aware that every year our school plays a major role in the South Milford Bonfire, and in return we receive a large donation of funds for the PTA. You can help us by providing sponsorship either personally or through a business. A letter detailing how to go about this is attached – please do support us
We have now finalised our teaching arrangements for Year 1 – 6 from September. Other staff deployments will be finalised after half term.
We are delighted to be welcoming two trainee teachers from Switzerland after half term. Miss Schmid will work alongside Mrs Law in year 6 for 3 weeks, and Miss Forster will be in Year 5 with Miss Dales.
Please keep checking the school diary for activities that are happening next half term – there is a lot going on! The dates for the KS2 production are the evenings of 27th & 28th June, and further details will be announced soon.
We are delighted to be hosting a visit from the Bishop of Selby on 21st June. He will meet staff and pupils, and will join in collective worship led by our worship team.

Reminder – Monk Fryston and Hillam Cubs have been learning all about the locally based charity, Chernobyl UK, this term, and are fundraising to support their next convoy of aid. They are holding a fundraising disco on Sunday 3rd June 3 – 4.30 pm at the community centre for children aged 6 – 10. Entrance will cost £2.50, and sweets, drinks and ice pops will be available to purchase. Chernobyl UK are also in need of new toothbrushes, toothpaste and soap to take across. The Cubs have put a box in the reception area, and would be very grateful of any donations.
