Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child.
All staff are highly valued, highly motivated and part of a supportive, professional team.
Next week’s school target is to come to school prepared for the hot weather.
We are very sad to announce that after 23 years’ service to our school, Mrs Pollard will retire at the end of the academic year. She has been an amazing servant to our school and her lessons are always popular with our children. She has been a major part of our achievement, particularly regarding RE and SIAMS, and she will be greatly missed. Governors, staff and pupils would like to wish her a very long and happy retirement.
Some parents have asked whether girls are allowed to wear pinafore playsuits as an alternative to traditional summer dresses. To clarify, as long as these are in school colours they are totally acceptable school uniform.
A number of our Year 6 children transitioned to Sherburn High School today, and we wish them every success in the future. Those not moving to Sherburn will have separate transition arrangements, but will remain with us until the end of term.
It is important that pupils drink regularly in the warm weather and we encourage them all to have drinks bottles available in school at all times. These should be water only please, and not juice. We provide water coolers so that they are able to refill their bottles during the day.
Congratulations to everyone in KS2 for amazing performances this week. They all did incredibly well, and we know that all the audiences thoroughly enjoyed the show.
