Next week’s school target; Remember to have the right PE kit in school all week.
You will be aware that we have increased the number of sports competitions that our children participate in. This is as a result of government funding that is allocated to school sports. Along with other schools in our area we have created a fairly extensive programme that will run throughout the academic year. It is our intention to try to enable as many children in our school to experience competitive sporting events as possible. Sometimes we are bound by selection criteria that mean we can only choose children of a certain age or ability, but we do hope that over the course of the year nearly every child will have been entered in an event.
We are holding a SPAG evening on Thursday 4th February for all parents/carers. We have attached a letter with full information.
We are pleased to be able to hold the Scholastic Book Fayre in school again after half term. More details to follow soon.
Tuesday 9th February is Pancake Day and cook is making pancakes for dessert for everyone who having school dinners w/c 8th February 2016.
The organisers of the Great Yorkshire Show have organised a ‘Springtime Live’ event to be at the Great Yorkshire Showground Sunday 3rd April. We have attached their poster with full information.
We are once again collecting the Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers, there is a box outside the office to put them in. Thank you!
The Guides will be selling sweets, buns, bracelets & other treats in the playground after school on Friday 5th February to raise money for the victims of the Tadcaster flood victims. They have designed a flyer which we have attached with more information.
