Friday News 4.3.16

Dear Parents/Carers,

School target for w/c 7.3.16; Remember to follow our lunchtime code.

Thank you for supporting our World Book Day celebrations by helping children to dress up. It really was a great occasion! If you want to follow up our activities at home please look at . There are activities and games in the primary section, and there is a good book finder for parents in the ideas section. We have attached a guide to reading with your child to help their reading at home.

A really big thank you to everyone who came and purchased books from the book fayre.  This has raised £734.42 in commission for us to spend on books.  AMAZING!!!!!

Your children may have told you that they have a new display screen in their class. This week, the amazing efforts of our PTA meant that we could install the first batch of new classroom screens. These have an HD display and are touchscreens, and will replace the aging Smartboards and projectors that are currently in our rooms. They are wonderful! We are extremely grateful to the PTA for funding this project – it has been a lot of hard work, but it is definitely paying off! We now need to raise more funds so that we can replace the projectors in the remaining classrooms (Reception, Y2 and Y6). You could help us by purchasing tickets to the quiz night on 18thMarch, as all proceeds will go towards the ICT project.

Tickets are now available for the annual PTA quiz night on Friday 18 March at 7:30.  Tickets, available through ParentPay, are £6 and include a Pie and Peas supper.  There will also be a bar with beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks available on the night.  Once you have paid we will send your tickets home with your child. This is always a fantastic evening with over 100 attending last year.  Please help us make this another fantastic fundraising event for the school.

We have put a green crate in the school entrance and are collecting food items, such as tea, coffee, rice, pasta, tinned fruits as well as other household items such as nappies, toiletries, dog food, chocolate, whatever anyone wants to give. Mrs Candler is going to take any donations to Knottingley Foodbank once a week which will be given to anyone who may need it.  We have attached a poster with suggested food donations.  Thank you for your support.
