Friday News 6.10.17

Dear Parents/Carers,

Next week’s school target is to always be prepared and ready to learn.

Please take time to talk about our school values for next week with your child.
We recognise, respect and encourage the use of imagination and creativity in learning, so that we nurture the individuality of every child and support the development of their unique identity and positive self-image.

Year 4 are our top attendees this week with 99.8%. Fantastic!

Thank you to those people who have already volunteered to help at the South Milford Bonfire. We really need as much support as possible, and if you haven’t yet sent your response please do consider giving a bit of time over the weekend. The more volunteers we have, the more money benefits our children.

Do you have any barbecue tools that you don’t need any more? We are collecting donations of tongs and forks to help the catering at the South Milford Bonfire. We need quite a few sets so please do donate them through the school office.

If you need to speak to a teacher about your child, please remember to make an appointment through the school office. We try not to allow parents into Key Stage 2 cloakrooms at the start or end of the day for safeguarding reasons. Teachers are usually unable to speak to parents at these times as they have a responsibility to supervise children.

Please remember that the school car park is for staff use only, and should not be used to drop children off in the morning or for collection after school. We do have one disabled space for use by blue badge holders; other visitors should use the layby on Chestnut Green or on-street parking. Thank you for your co-operation.

We were delighted with the Macmillan Coffee Afternoon run by our Year 6 pupils last week. They raised a whopping £1125 – incredible! We have received many positive comments about the event. Thank you to everyone who attended.

The PTA have arranged a disco for Weds 1st November, more details to follow but save the date!

If you are a graduate and have considered training to be a teacher, why not do it through the STAR Alliance? The next round of applications opens through UCAS on 26th October.

Please see the attached flyer regarding a fun run 11.10.17
