Dear Parents/Carers,

Next week’s school target is maximise your learning.

Thank you to all the parents who completed the survey during the summer term. Your feedback has been very valuable. Governors are in the process of analysing this data and hope to be able to share it with you in entirety in due course. We have compared the results to the survey done last year and have noted some very positive answers. Even though we had high results previously, many of these have improved further. For example, 100% Parents feel welcome when they come into our school; 94% Parents are confident that if they raised a concern the school would respond well (Improved from 89% in 2018); 97% Parents feel that the school is well led and managed (Improved from 93% in 2018). You can view more of these results on the windows around the school.

Our PTA AGM is on Tues 24th September at 7pm, please come along, the PTA do an amazing job raising much needed funds and could really do with your help.

Please remember that children should only bring water in their classroom drinks bottles. We do not allow them to bring juice or flavoured drinks.

There have been reports of children riding bikes around the school site after hours. Please remind children that they should not be on school premises outside school time. If you see someone trespassing, please help us by reminding them that they should not be on the site.

This year, the MAT are trialling assessment procedures consistently across all schools. This won’t mean much difference for our school because we already use some of the tools and processes. We may, though, change the way that we report your child’s progress and achievement to you so that it is clearer and consistent, and we hope to be able to provide more information about this later in the term.

Don’t forget that if you have a concern about your child or the school, the first point of contact should be your child’s class teacher. If this does not satisfactorily resolve your concerns, please make an appointment to see Mr Weights. If you are unable to reach a resolution, our complaints policy is available on our website, and this explains the next steps that are available to you.

Our Harvest Service will be on 14th October at St Wilfrid’s Church at 9.30am, we are asking for donations of dried or tinned food on the day, children will carry these to church with them. Things like cereals, rice and tinned food, nothing perishable please. Parents are welcome to come along to church. The donations will be given to Knottingley Food Bank.

Anyone wishing to donate cakes or buns for the Macmillan Coffee afternoon on 4th October, could you please send them to school that morning.  The afternoon will start at 2.30pm until 4pm, please join us for a cuppa and cake!
