Bishop John met members of the Worship Team, did a question and answer session with our Year 5 class, and participated in an act of Collective Worship. We enjoyed being able to show him our outstanding school, and we got an insight into the life and duties of a bishop.

They learnt how to be leaders and identified a project in the community that they would like to improve. The wanted to “Be the change that you want to see”. They chose to improve the Green outside school, and so with the support of the Parish Council they have removed litter and weeds, planted new bulbs, refurbished the woodwork, and installed new nesting boxes. They really have made a big difference!
In recognition of their great work they were presented the Young Leaders Award by the Bishop of Selby, and by Ben Fry the morning presenter on Minster FM at a grand ceremony at Monk Fryston Hall. This was a lovely occasion and it was fitting to celebrate their achievements.
