]]> 1387 New Library https://monkfryston.n-yorks.sch.uk/frontpage-featured/new-library/ Tue, 21 Apr 2015 09:22:38 +0000 https://monkfryston.n-yorks.sch.uk/?p=519 Children dressed up as a character from a book to help celebrate the opening of our new library. We were delighted that Hilary Robinson, the published author of a number of well-known children’s books, talked to our children about being an author. She shared her latest book ‘Where the Poppies Now Grow’, and then cut the ribbon to open our new library. We had a wonderful cake made in the shape of books that was enjoyed by members of the PTA, Governing Body, and members of the community who had helped to raise funding and organise our new resource. We hope that this helps to encourage our children to read and develop a genuine love for books – and are sure that it will!
