Year 2 had a fantastic day at Skelton Grange! This trip linked in with their survival topic, so they were learning lots of new strategies to stay alive in desperate times. The weather was wonderful, but luckily the woods provided some welcome shade. Their highlights were: building a den, making a trap, crossing the swamp, making fire, learning about water filtration and practising hunting skills. They are definitely well equipped if they ever get stranded on a desert island! Well done Year 2, you were so well behaved and all had a super day.

On Thursday 10 of our year 2 children were given the opportunity to go to Kellington Primary School, to take part in the Multiskills Festival.

The children had a great time, they completed all of the different activities available. We were pleased to see them supporting each other and they were a credit to our school.

We are so proud!

We investigated the micro habitat of ponds as our main focus. We had great fun pond dipping and then identifying each creature. We found out lots of facts about the creatures too including what they liked eating. Herbivore, carnivore, omnivore of detritivore?

We also learnt about life on top of the water. We fed the ducks with special food and many of us were surprised to learn that we shouldn’t be feeding them bread!

The children were fantastic ambassadors for our school, all demonstrated wonderful manners and showed lots of respect for the beautiful environment at the Ings.
