The Headspace is Open!
The Headspace has opened!
We are delighted to announce that our new wellbeing facility, ‘The Headspace’ is now complete and has been officially opened. This purpose-built room will offer us a new space to do mental health and wellbeing activities such as counselling, meditation, individual interventions and small group work. We will use it with children of all ages.
The project has been funded entirely through donations. Our PTA have organised incredible events over the last two years, and we have benefited from amazing support through the Monk Fryston Beer Festival. The presented us with a cheque for £7750 from the event last September, which has been put towards the Headspace.
At a small ceremony, the Headspace was officially opened by Chloe from Compass Buzz (a North Yorkshire mental health organisation) who cut a ribbon, Martyn Sibley (CEO of the STAR Multi-Academy Trust) who unveiled the name plaque, and Phil Pickles (Beer Festival organising committe) who cut a cake. In attendance were members of the PTA, Beer Festival committee, and one of our Trustees.
The event was covered by the Selby Times, so look out for coverage in the next edition!
