On behalf of all the children, staff and families at Monk Fryston Church of England Primary School, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you. We are proud of our school and are keen to show you what we do here.
Our school has been part of the village of Monk Fryston for over 150 years, although we have only been our current site since 1999. We deliberately aspire to ensure that our children have a broad education so that they understand the importance of good behaviour and positive relationships, and achieve high academic outcomes. We choose to summarise this in the phrase: “Good people, doing well”, which is taken from a passage in the book of Titus in the bible. We know that if everyone connected with our school understands how to be responsible and of good character, and dedicates themselves to hard work and learning, then they will be successful in life. And we also know that we achieve this consistently. We are incredibly proud of our children. They attain high outcomes each year, and go on to do very well in their next schools and subsequent working lives.
Since 2018 our school has been part of the STAR multi academy trust, and we were federated with Saxton Church of England Primary School in 2019. This means that we are part of something bigger, and get great benefit from the opportunities that this brings. Leaders and governors work across both schools in the federation, although classroom staff tend to be based on just one site. You can see our sister school’s website at www.sp.starmat.uk
You will find our school to be warm and welcoming, and a very close community. Families say that they feel included and valued, and they appreciate the contact that they make with others. We work in close partnership with families, and also have a number of events that are organised by our PTA and local community, that families enjoy.
Please take the time to browse through our website or social media feeds to find out about life in our school. If you would like to visit to see what we do at first hand, I would be delighted to show it to you.
