On Monday a number of our pupils took part in the district cross country running competition at Tadcaster Grammar School. This was different to most of our other competitions, as it was a condition of entry that children had undergone a competition in school first and only the quickest runners were selected. Therefore all the very best runners throughout the area competed in races for each age group. Over 1300 pupils took part, with each race having about 100 competitors. The standard was incredibly high! Our children did extremely well, and whilst none were placed high enough to qualify for the northern final we did have a number of children who came in the top 20 in their race. This is a terrific achievement. Most importantly, everyone represented our school extremely well and enjoyed the experience.
