Yr 3 meet Dame Sarah Storey

Pupils from Y3 at Monk Fryston School braved the cold to meet a cycling legend today. Dame Sarah Storey was out recceing the route ahead of Saturday’s ASDA Tour de Yorkshire women’s race. She stopped briefly to chat with pupils, and meet the Y5 pupil  who won the land art competition; the art is currently under construction justoff Duncemire Lane.  

Dame Sarah was accompanied by Monica Dew, part of her Boot Out Breast Cancer Cycling Team, as well as co-founder of the team, Barney Storey. Both Dame Sarah and Barney are multiple gold medalists in Paralympic cycling, as well as world title holders and an Olympic gold medal winner.
