What a great day we had! Though we were just down the road (Ledsham), we were in another land full of dogs, ducks, birds of prey, pigeons and everything country. Den building in the woods was the first activity of the day, foraging for fallen branches and working together to create well-structured and cosy dens – one den held the whole class! We watched dogs herding ducks, beagles being nosey and even dancing sheep. For most children, a close-up view of a pipistrelle bat convinced them that bats can be cute. Some children were lucky (?) enough to hold rats, a snake, a tarantula and a handful of cockroaches. We even raced with a ferret!
